A new Agricultural Security Area (ASA) has been officially added in Dover Township. Ag Security Areas aim to support local farmers and strengthen agricultural operations in the region. This initiative is part of a broader effort to protect the Township’s agricultural land from urban sprawl and promote sustainable farming practices.
The new ASA encompasses 141.79 acres of farmland, providing local farmers with essential protections against potential development. This brings the total ASA in Dover Township to 7,237.65 acres, roughly 27% of Dover Township. These areas help ensure that agricultural activities can continue uninterrupted and enable farmers to invest in their operations with greater confidence. The ASA designation also comes with access to resources and programs designed to assist farmers in maintaining and improving their lands.
Together, we can cultivate a thriving agricultural future for our community!
