Voluntary Water Use Restriction

In response to the current conditions in York County, Dover Township is implementing voluntary restrictions on nonessential water usage. To help conserve water, we can all contribute by taking the following steps:

Fix Appliance and Toilet Leaks: Promptly repair any leaks in appliances and toilets.

Optimize Washer and Dishwasher Use: Run washers and dishwashers only when you have full loads to maximize efficiency.

Conserve Water During Showers: Take shorter showers and turn off the water while soaping up.

Reduce Toilet Flushes: Minimize the number of times you flush the toilet each day.

Chill Drinking Water: Keep drinking water in the refrigerator so you don’t have to run the tap to get it cold.

Avoid Vehicle Washing: Refrain from washing cars, trucks, and other vehicles during this period.

Delay Pressure Washing and Hose Use: Postpone any activities that require the use of pressure washers or hoses.

Limit Lawn and Landscaping Watering: Do not water lawns and landscaping until the situation improves.

Minimize Water Features: Curtail the use of fountains, artificial waterfalls, and reflecting pools.

By adhering to these voluntary water use restrictions, we can collectively contribute to conserving our valuable water resources during this period. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
